Verbatim 250 GB USB 2.0 CLŌN Portable External Hard Drive 97063 (Black Matte Finish) CustomerReview

I use this to port large video files between home and office. For comparison to your setup, my home computer is Windows 7; the office machine is still XP. In both cases I plugged in the drive and was using it a few seconds later, no problems with drivers, no hangups with installation software, nothing. The home machine has two other external USB drives, both 1 T, running through a single USB hub that also runs my printer and wireless keyboard and mouse. So far the drive has worked flawlessly with no hardware or software conflicts. Transfer between this drive and another USB drive has run about 15 meg per second. It does not use a proprietary USB cord format, so no one will ever try to sell you an overpriced cord later. I am very satisfied with this drive and will probably buy again.
